truth!

Alrighty friends, here we are to talk about God and how great He is!! These past few weeks I think I have learned the most about how important it is to fill your life with Truth. The reality of it is that the enemy is smart and real and active, he will fill your head with lies and will try to break you down as best as he can. And you know what, he can be pretty successful at it too, regardless of where your walk with Christ is. We all fall short, we all buy into those lies but it is our choice to decide whether or not we are going to fight with the ultimate weapon, the Word of God. It has been tough for me to realize that I need to be active as well to combat those lies and fight with truth. I say all the excuses: "oh, I had too much going on today to open my Bible" or "maybe if I just try to avoid it all together it will go away" (this is my 9 self on the enneagram coming out). WRONG. The more you allow your thoughts to be compromised the worse it gets, your perspective changes, your attitude changes, the way you interact with people changes. All of this to say that you can not do this alone! Find the people who you can confide in, who will lift you up and call you out when you need it. Find those people who will speak truth into your life and help you to realize what lies you are believing about yourself and about others. The Lord will use those people in your life to encourage you and let you know you are not alone in this world. He is with you always and in Him there is no darkness! I opened up my Bible today and found a note that my best friend wrote on the page of 1 John that says "there is absolutely no darkness in Him". He is the light of the world sent for us to be used as vessels. We need to be willing and wanting to dive deep into scripture to be able to come along side those who need some encouragement and love, to be good brothers and sisters in Christ. Sure it is going to be difficult, but thats why we have scripture, and prayer, and so many other resources so we can grow as Christians! Our God is so good, He loves us unconditionally no matter what and will never leave us alone. He is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. He knows us, is with us, and is willing to fight alongside us. I pray that you find the encouragement you need to trust in the Lord wholeheartedly and know that His word is true!!


(p.s. I have been focusing on Psalm 31 the last couple weeks and would 10/10 recommend)
