first things first...

Hello everyone! Welcome to my new blog which I am calling joyful abundance. The reason behind this name is because I believe that through all God has blessed us with, there is no reason we should live without joy. Though so many tragedies happen and there is hurt in our world, why focus on the bad when we can focus on all of the good and find the light in the darkness! I also believe that we are called to live an abundant life. We were created for a purpose on this earth to live a life pursuing Christ. Psalm 5:7 talks about how through the abundance of love our heavenly father has for us, we are able to enter his house and have a relationship with him. Joyful abundance to me means to live solely for Christ so that we rejoice in everything he does for us, we trust in where he is leading us and every season we are in is for a divine purpose. I pray that by me sharing different lessons the Lord has taught me since being in college, you may be encouraged to pursue a more intimate relationship with Him and choose to walk with Him.

Recently my "life motto"(as you could call it) is to Be Happy! Rather than complaining about the little things in life, seek out what you have been blessed with. Learn to recognize why you have been put into a certain situation and what God might trying to show you. This is not me saying that by seeing everything as rainbows and sunshine your life is going to automatically be better, I am saying that by recognizing the good you become more understanding of what the Lord is trying to teach you. C.S. Lewis says "There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind". No matter what season of life you are going through, there is good that will come out of it. All it comes down to is whether or not you choose to seek out the good, and more importantly whether or not you choose to seek out God. He is always there waiting and willing to spend time with you, but are you taking advantage of a God who desires you to have a personal relationship with Him? My encouragement for you is to ask God to show you the goodness he has provided and then praise Him for it even if it is the smallest thing such as a beautiful sunrise or a small act of friendship such as someone asking you about your day! Our God uses those around us to display his goodness, so take a minute to look up and see what he is showing you and thank him for it. Then, when all of that is said and done, remind yourself to just Be Happy!
